2009-12-23
New details are posted about the 2010 CF1K: The following
are the key points:
- Registration opens January 8, 2010
- Registration will close March 15, 2010, or whenever
all rider slots have been filled.
- There are 115 registration slots available: 90 for
the 24-hour rally and 25 for the Mini-Rally
- (Last year registration was closed less than 2 days
after it was opened to the public - don’t wait.)
- The CF1k will once again offer a 24-hour Rally event,
a Mini-Rally, a BBQ Feast Saturday evening at the Finisher’s Banquet,
and a Farewell Breakfast on Sunday morning.
- The 24-hour Rally will begin at 11:00 a.m. (Eastern
Time) on Friday the 16th . Each rider will start from one of three possible
starting locations: Auburn, NY, Bowling Green, KY, or Lake Placid, FL.
- All riders will be due in Wilmington, North Carolina,
not later than 3:00 p.m. on Saturday the 17th.
- The Mini-Rally will begin with rider check-in at 6:00
p.m. on Friday evening, followed by an informal gathering from 7:00-9:00
p.m. The Rider’s Meeting begins at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday the 17th,
riders will be released at 6:00 a.m. and are due back not later than
4:00 p.m.
- The BBQ Feast will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday
evening with rally results being announced, awards and recognition of
riders at 8:30 p.m, or as soon thereafter as the scores can be tallied.

The Cape Fear 1000 Rally is coming back! The fifth edition
of the Cape Fear 1000 Rally is scheduled for April 16-18, 2010.
We will be offering a similar format as in previous years with three starting
locations, plus a mini-rally on Saturday, and ending in Wilmington, NC.
